The first goal for the Five Small Towns is to increase knowledge of broadband technology. So far the following tools have been created to disseminate information:

  1. news articles (66 columns presently),
  2. educational handouts (over 2500 distributed  presently), and
  3. classroom training (five different classes offered) 

The second goal is to promote and establish an eCommerce environment, An increased exploration and understanding of eCommerce will be gained through 4 class offerings:

  • eCommerce (April, October & November),
  • Dreamweaver 8 (offered full day in June),
  • Intro to the Internet (November), and
  • eBay (offered full day in October)

The third goal is increased website development in the Five Small Towns. A team of students will work with business owners to develop websites to promote their product. Presently 13 have signed on to have websites developed. Each of the five small towns will develop a city website, which can provide a link to businesses, a calendar, and basic information regarding their community. A partnership was formed with Northwest Regional Development Commission to work in the development of the city websites which will additionally provide a regional link.
