LEADERSHIP PROGRAMS
Rural Minnesota communities are strengthened and become healthy when broad-based local
leadership takes responsibility and deals effectively with the opportunities and challenges
that come with change. The Foundation's leadership programs are designed to help current
and emerging leaders further develop the skills, knowledge and relationships they need to
build and sustain healthy community. Participants in our programs increase their capacity to
work with others to:
- Move from individual passion and interest to shared vision and community action.
- Recognize and build on their community's multiple and diverse assets.
- Create sustainable efforts that have long term impact.
The Foundation's ongoing leadership programs are:
- Blandin Community Leadership Program (BCLP)
This nationally recognized program brings together teams that are reflective
of those various sectors of their community to gain deeper insight into
the dynamics of their community, strengthen their skills in working
effectively with others and learn "hands on" tools for taking action
that builds and sustains healthy community.
- Partners-in-Leadership (PIL) The
Partners-in-Leadership Program is intended for communities that are becoming
culturally and ethnically diverse. Working with learning teams comprised of
Blandin Community Leadership Program alumni and leaders from populations of
color or new immigrant populations the Partners program:
- Recognizes and strengthens the leadership capacities within the local
population of color and new immigrant populations.
- Increases the ability of BCLP alumni and of leaders within the new
populations and populations of color to work effectively in multi-cultural
situations.
- Brings the culturally diverse leadership of the community together to work
on specific issues and opportunities.
- Blandin Reservation Community Leadership Program
The Blandin Reservation Community Leadership Program is an adaption of the Blandin Community
Leadership Program. It is designed to help strengthen Minnesota's rural reservation
communities by developing cohorts of Native leaders who have increased their capacity
to address the particular opportunities and challenges their communities face.
