Between 2003 and 2009, Blandin Foundation worked with dozens of courageous partners to:
- strengthen and diversify Minnesota's forest-based economy and
- promote the long-term ecological health of Minnesota's forests.
During these six years, the Foundation invested more than $15 million in 29 major projects, which leveraged more than $40 in other resources. While the Foundation transitioned out of this initiative in 2009, the work continues in the hands of Minnesota's many forestry leaders.
The projects of the Vital Forest/Vital Communities initiative are summarized here. And for color commentary and even deeper perspective, see our archived VFVC blog.
