Daniel Lemm named Blandin Foundation finance director

GRAND RAPIDS, MINN.  (Nov. 7, 2017) – Daniel Lemm will join the Blandin Foundation senior leadership team as Director of Finance beginning Nov. 13.  In this role, Lemm will be responsible for Blandin Foundation’s overall financial management.

“Blandin Foundation has a strong history of excellent financial management, and we welcome Daniel to Grand Rapids and this key position,” said Dr. Kathleen Annette, president and CEO.  “With his strong experiences in non-profit finance, we look forward to Daniel’s contributions and his passion for strong, resilient and healthy communities.”

Lemm joins Blandin Foundation following tenures in accounting and finance at Minneapolis-based The McKnight Foundation and Native Americans in Philanthropy.  He also had been finance director for Lower Sioux Community in Morton, Minn.  In addition to several certifications, Lemm holds Bachelor of Science degrees in Accounting from Metropolitan State University and Finance from Iowa State University.  He is working on the Master in Nonprofit Management degree at Hamline University.

“Being Dakota, I have a very strong sense of community,” said Lemm.  “Early in my career, I found that sharing my finance skills and abilities, especially with non-profits, was my way of giving back.  Even better when it is for a foundation like Blandin, which can have such widespread impact.”

Lemm is an enrolled member of the Lower Sioux Community.  He has volunteered with a number of organizations, including Headwaters Foundation for Justice, Minnesota Council on Foundations, Dakota Wicohan, Tiwahe Foundation and Ain Dah Yung Center.
