Board Leadership & Governance for Nonprofits
Many articles and workshops about nonprofit boards of directors emphasize the different roles of staff members and boards. What if those who serve on the board are also the same people who do the work of the nonprofit? Nonprofits that operate with all volunteers, or those with few paid staff, need a different kind of board of directors. This workshop covered the legal role of the board, practical ways to juggle the role of “worker bee” and governing board member, along with guidelines for board activities, recruiting and orienting board members.
